The Global Fund for Children find and invest in grassroots organizations that enable the most vulnerable children in their communities to thrive (Global Fund for Children, 2014). Their strategic support helps our grantees achieve their vision, become sustainable, and reach even more children in need (Global Fund for Children, 2014). They do not only focus on just providing money; they also focus on strengthening organizations around the world to have a lasting effect.
The Global Fund for Children have touched the lives of millions of children. Their impact means thousands of children are going to school instead of to work (Global Fund for Children, 2014). Thousands more are protecting themselves from HIV, escaping the bonds of slavery, and getting the childhood they deserve (Global Fund for Children, 2014). Spreading the word and letting others know about the devastating situations of children around the world may help reduce or even eliminate poverty.

ReplyDeleteI too have not heard anything from the educators I reached out to the first week of class, but I am still hopeful. The global fund sounds like a great organization who want to help the most vulnerable, which are children, survive. it is so shocking that there are children being born into slavery. It breaks my heart. There needs to be more awareness brought to this organization and what they are doing. Great Post, Erica.

ReplyDeleteI must start off by saying I believe that you along with myself and other colleagues have yet to hear from those individuals that we reached out too. We must remain hopeful that we do eventually hear from them though. In reference to your post I love the fact that the organization in which you chose to research stated that not only are they implementing ways to such as giving money to help impoverished individuals but they are implementing things and ways to help strengthen organizations so that they would have an everlasting effect that is much needed when trying to fight a war against poverty. I really believe in tackling and overcoming the issue overall so helping to keep organizations strong that work towards is remarkable and very pleasing.

It is important to see the possible future in a child's life, because if we see children for who they are now often enough we would never allow a child to reach for who he/she can become. This organisation has taken it upon themselves to serve in the potential of the children, it is important to give each child a fair chance of making the dream a reality.
ReplyDeleteI researched the Global Fund for Children as well.I am glad to learn that there are initiatives that are working on behalf of children to decrease poverty.
